Facilities

The buildings and grounds at Hampton are a unique part of the culture and history of Hampton and the local community. They have undertgone many changes over time and been continually improved, largely through the outstanding fundraising efforts of the parent community, and we are fortunate to have some wonderful and unique learning spaces.

The main building is a unique original two-storey brick schoolhouse enclosing an internal courtyard with a retractable shade sail and a balcony. This building contains our Foundation to year 2 students, admin and staff areas, specialist classrooms, music practice rooms and a toilet block and assemblies are held here in fine weather.

Our ‘BER’ building contains all our year five and six classes in flexible teaching spaces with access to a large central open plan space, small TV studio, resource area and toilets. We also have existing and new portable classrooms strategically placed to allow for these classes to easily gather and learn with flexible teaching spaces.

Specialist classes are also well catered for with a performing arts/ music classroom, a large art room complete with kiln. This building also contains the school operated canteen and hall. Science/ STEAM opportunities are available to all classes via a new dedicated classroom space funded by our parent community. Our LOTE Mandarin sessions are taken in one of two dedicated classrooms and our Physical Education classes take place in our large synthetically turfed oval area, basketball courts or rebound wall.

Many of the school facilities allow considerable flexibility in teaching and learning approaches. All teaching spaces have 21st-century technologies including large screen TV’s, laptops and iPads.

Students have a wide variety of play spaces within our school grounds including a large, exciting and engaging adventure playground which as part of our commitment to connect to our community is also open to the public on weekends, something no other school in the area offers. WE have many other play spaces throughout the grounds including a smaller junior playground space, a beautifully designed passive space with our indigenous garden (and teaching space), ‘gaga’ pit, basketball court, large sandpit, soccer and footy oval, netball and handball courts, several different maths, language and physical activities marked on the asphalt surfaces and an outdoor stage area.
